Bandarpoonch, meaning “monkey’s tail,” is named after the legendary tail of Lord Hanuman. You will be summiting the highest peak of the massif, soaring to an impressive 6,316 meters. This difficult climb requires technical equipment and a strong spirit of adventure, making it a must-do for experienced mountaineers.

Your journey begins in the charming village of Sukhi and takes you through lush meadows, rugged glaciers, and challenging slopes. Your 14-Day Bandarpoonch Expedition Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrive in Uttarkashi
  • Day 2: Travel to Sukhi village and trek to Forest Camp
  • Day 3: Trek to Base Camp
  • Day 4: Rest and acclimatize at Base Camp
  • Day 5-7: Load ferry and trek to Advanced Base Camp (ABC)
  • Day 8: Trek to Summit Camp (Camp 1)
  • Day 9: Summit attempt
  • Day 10: Reserve day for summit attempt
  • Day 11-12: Return to and rest at Base Camp
  • Day 13: Return to Forest Camp
  • Day 14: Return to Sukhi and depart for Uttarkashi/Dehradun/Delhi

Essential Trekking Guidelines

To ensure a safe and successful expedition, please follow these guidelines:

Before the Trek:

  • Pack essentials like Vaseline, hand cream, and hand sanitizer.
  • Consult your doctor and carry medications for altitude sickness and any personal health conditions.
  • Build your stamina with jogging, skipping, and core exercises for at least two weeks before the trek.
  • Pack extra layers, including thermals, gloves, and woolen socks.

During the Trek:

  • Stay hydrated by sipping water regularly.
  • Follow the acclimatization rules provided by your trek leader.
  • Never skip meals to maintain your energy levels.
  • Follow the “Leave No Trace” principles and keep the trail clean.

After the Trek:

  • Discuss any challenges you faced with your trek leader.
  • Consult a doctor if you experience any health issues post-trek.
